Happy Birthday Son

Hi there peeps, aren't men's cards difficult and ones we put off normally to the last minute, (or pretend you forgot), but here's one I made for my son Tom's birthday this week.  It looks difficult but it's really not.

You will need all this, plus a piece of card to fit the embossing folder.  I've used the Sara Davis 'Birthday Greetings' folder.  It gives a lovely deep emboss, and if you do it on Centura pearl card it's even more lovelier,

Using the brayer, roll the versamark ink over the smooth side only of the embossing folder, insert your card and run it through your die cutting machine.

Make sure you wipe the embossing folder and roller when you've finished otherwise it leaves it sticky!

The next step is to sprinkle the embossed piece of card with one colour of embossing powder at a time,
making sure you put the excess back into the pot before using another colour, until the card is covered.

Then heat it with your heat tool and watch the magic happen.
(Oops excuse the white patch, as I didn't ink the card properly)

In the original I cut a circle and used a star die I got free from a magazine before Christmas, but if you haven't got that you could always use a couple of circle dies to cut a border.  The letters were cut using the X-cut die Weddings.  (Love this alphabet set of dies).

I also used the versamark pad around the edges of the slightly larger card and embossed it using one of the colours I used on the topper.

Hope this all makes sense,  please let me know if it does, or if you have any questions please send me a message via Facebook, but leave me a comment anyway so I know you popped by.  Thanks.
